A Polish Court ruled Aug. 5, that alleged Israeli Mossad agent, Uri Brodsky will be extradited to Germany within 10 days.

Israeli Brodsky is suspected of providing a German passport used in the assassination of Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, in Dubai last January.

Brodsky will not be extradited on charges of espionage as requested by Germany.

The Polish court ruling cannot be appealed, and Brodsky can only be tried for forgery, which carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison in Germany, two years less than for espionage.

Israel had requested Brodsky be sent to Israel.

However, although Poland sees itself as a close partner to Israel, Prime Minister Donald Trusk responded that Polish law “leaves little room to maneuver.”

The court said it could not break mutual trust between EU member states so had to fulfill Germany’s request, according to Polish media reports.
