Steelers safety Troy Polamalu will be out for this Thursday night’s game against the Tennessee Titans after re-injuring his calf Sunday against Philadelphia, according to a report on the team’s website.
“He will probably be deemed out this week because of the week itself being a quick turnaround and the nature of the injury,” said Coach Mike Tomlin. “We will evaluate him when get back from Tennessee. We don’t think he will participate.”
The 31-year-old Polamalu missed the previous two games with a calf injury that was originally suffered in last January’s playoff loss at Denver.
Meanwhile Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley suffered a mild hamstring injury in the Philadelphia win. Woodley hasn’t been ruled out yet for the quick turnaround Thursday night as Tomlin said they'll “leave the door ajar.”
