With PlayStation Network being out of commission for the past several weeks, Sony said on Monday that it would hand out a free consolation package to customers when it goes back online.

PlayStation Network and Qriocity services were restored over the weekend for some users, according to the company’s social media director Patrick Seybold in a blog posting.

“We developed the program as an expression of our gratitude for your patience, support and continued loyalty during the service outage,” he wrote.

Only available for already-registered users, the package will provide the ability to download two PlayStation 3 games from a list of five, which includes “Dead Nation,” “inFAMOUS,” “LittleBigPlanet,” “Super Stardust HD,” and “Wipeout HD + Fury.”

PSP owners can download two games of four, which are “LittleBigPlanet” (PSP), “ModNation Racers,” “Pursuit Force,” and “Killzone Liberation.”

The games will be made available for 30 days after the store is brought back online, and they can be kept indefinitely.

Apart from games, Sony also offered other free items and services.

Customers can also rent from a selection of “On Us” movie titles for one weekend where service is available. The titles have not been not announced yet. Non-PlayStation Plus subscribers are now eligible for 30 free days of the services.

Music Unlimited subscribers can also get at least 30 days of time lost during the network outage. And customers can get 100 free virtual items for PlayStation Home.

PlayStation Network was shut off on April 20 after the company found out that it had been hacked. Sony later announced that more than 77 million customers’ personal information was stolen during the incident.
