A small plane carrying four crashed in Essex County in Virginia on Saturday night, it was reported.

There were no injuries among passengers on board.

WTKR-TV reported that the plane went down around 8:15 p.m., crashing in a wooded area near U.S. Route 3.

Virginia State Police told the station they are investigating the crash.

The plane’s pilot told authorities the plane was having engine problems before it crashed into trees, reported WTVR. The station described the pilot, who was not named, as experienced.

The plane apparently also lost power at around 6,000 feet.

Passengers apparently deployed a parachute and the plane crashed into the woods, WTVR said.
