Johnny Depp, 47, will reprise his role as Sparrow. In the movie, he will be up against the infamous Captain Blackbeard in the latest installment of the franchise.
Ian McShane, 68, a veteran actor who appeared on BBC’s Lovejoy and HBO’s Deadwood, will appear as Blackbeard.
The latest Pirates film will not feature Kiera Knightley. Instead, 36-year-old Penelope Cruz will star as the daughter of Blackbeard, Angelica.
The film will make its debut in the US on May 20, 2011 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.
