Prince William has chosen his brother, Prince Harry, to be his best man, while Kate Middleton selected her younger sister, Philippa, known to her family as Pippa, to be her maid of honor, AFP reported.
“Prince William has asked his brother, Prince Harry, to be his best man,” St. James’s Palace stated, according to AFP. “Miss Catherine Middleton has asked her sister, Miss Philippa Middleton, to be her maid of honor.”
Prince Harry, who is currently serving in the British Royal Air Force, said that he welcomes the couple’s marriage, which is set for April 29.
“I am delighted that my brother has popped the question! It means I get a sister, which I have always wanted,” he said, according to the Guardian newspaper.
The couple announced that younger members of their families will be bridesmaids and page boys.
Lady Louise Windsor, the 7-year-old daughter of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, will be a bridesmaid. Margarita Armstrong-Jones, the 8-year-old daughter of Viscount and Viscountess Linley, will also be a bridesmaid.
