Brad Pitt and three of his kids “filled in” for Angelina Jolie at the Los Angeles Unbroken premiere on Monday night.
Jolie told fans over the weekend that she has chicken pox.
“I will be home, itching and missing everyone,” she said in a video released online. “I can’t believe it ‘cause this film means so much to me.... But such is life. There it is.”
Jolie directed Unbroken, a movie about the life of Olympian and World War II pilot Louis Zamperini, which stars Jack O'Connell, Domhnall Gleeson, and Jai Courtney.
Pitt attended for his wife, along with the couple’s three oldest children--Maddow, 13; Pax, 11; and Shiloh, 8.
Pitt’s parents Jane and William Pitt even came along to help look after the kids.
“It’s just cruel. It’s cruel irony,” he said on the red carpet. “She’s a bit peppered and spotted.”
“I thought about connecting the dots when she’s asleep or something,” he joked.
Pitt also said he’s proud of Jolie’s work on the film.
“She’s so proud of this film and, of course, what Louis Zamperini represents,” Brad explained. “She’s just grateful for everyone who came out. Spirits are high. It’s a nice thing.”
