NEW YORK—Food Network’s Chopped host, two-time Emmy and James Beard award-winning chef, and cookbook author, Ted Allen, will be in Union Square at noon Saturday, Aug. 17, for a canning and cooking demo, as part of the third annual National Can-It-Forward Day.

The event, run by Ball jars, will start at 10 a.m. and run through 2 p.m. It will also be broadcast live on Ball’s website for people who want to learn about preserving but can’t be there in person.
