On December 6, about 3,000 armed police fired on the farmers of Dongzhou Village in Southern China who were protesting in front of a power plant. Farmers have been protesting there because the officials took their land to build the power plant while providing little compensation. Villagers told The Epoch Times that there were as many as 70 villagers killed in the incident.
December 9, villagers surrounded by armed police and unable to leave the village. Large number of the victims’ relatives held incense and kneeled down to beg police to allow them to claim the bodies (4 photos below).
