After four weeks of voting, the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway won second place in a popular voting competition by USA Today for the “the best stretch of road for fall leaf-peeping.”
The Upper Delaware Scenic Byway stretches 71 miles along Route 97 between the City of Port Jervis in Orange County and the Village of Hancock in Delaware County. Following the Delaware River, this scenic byway is a popular ride for motorcyclists and bikers, and is famous for its windy stretch in Sparrowbush called “Hawk’s Nest.”
Michigan’s M-22 won first place and the Kancamagus Scenic Byway in New Hampshire took third.
