Saturday’s Air India plane crash has claimed at least 160 people, near the city of Mangalore in the India’s southern state of Karnataka. Estimates of the death toll have varied somewhat.
According to Air India the plane was a Boeing 737-800, carrying 166 passengers including six crew. The plane was attempting to land at Bajpe Airport and overshot the airstrip’s “table top” runway, which requires additional training to land on according to experts.
