A 3-month-old child died after it was left in a hot car in Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon, according to reports.
A local discovered the baby in a vehicle behind BT’s Sports Pub on Wednesday near the intersection of Thunderbird and Scottsdale roads, reported MyFoxPhoenix.com.
They tried to give the child CPR but the baby was unresponsive.
Paramedics arrived and took the baby--who was not identified--to a hospital, said police. The baby was pronounced dead some time later.
Police are now questioning the child’s father, who allegedly left the baby in the car. The man apparently forgot that his baby was in the vehicle.
AZFamily.com reported that the father works at the kitchen in BT’s Sports Pub.
Police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson told AZCentral.com that the father “lost track of time.”
Temperatures in Phoenix on Wednesday reached above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
It is unclear if the father will be charged with a crime.
