Philadelphia International Airport was hit with hundreds of flight cancellations due to the major snowstorm affecting the Northeastern United States the day after Christmas.

As of Sunday afternoon, about 400 flights had been canceled at Philadelphia International Airport, about 65 and 70 percent of all arrivals and departures, airport spokeswoman Victoria Lupica told The Associated Press.

Lupica said a hospitality program was prepared to help stranded travelers.

As of 8:35 p.m. Sunday evening, the latest arrival cancellation is US Airways’s 12:43 a.m. flight from Orlando, Fla., to Philadelphia. The latest departure cancellation is Southwest Airlines’s 6:25 a.m. flight from Philadelphia to Boston, according to the Philadelphia International Airport’s website.

Philadelphia is among the many cities that declared snow emergencies. In addition to the hundreds of delayed and canceled flights, the NFL game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings, which was scheduled for national broadcast on NBC on Dec. 26, was postponed to Tuesday night, according to NFL.com.

“We are urging all Philadelphians, please be careful, please be safe,” Mayor Michael Nutter said at a press conference at City Hall, according to AP.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning on Monday, projecting 8 to 12 inches of snow in Philadelphia and its suburbs. Monday night’s total nighttime snow accumulation is expected to be between 4 and 8 inches. A chance of snow is predicted before 1 p.m. Monday before the weather gradually becomes mostly sunny.
