Phil Hartman, the comedian and voice actor, would have been 65 years old on Tuesday.
Born in Canada, Hartman was killed by his wife while she slept in his Los Angeles home in 1998. His wife then committed suicide several hours later.
At the time, Entertainment Weekly wrote that he was “the last person you'd expect to read about in lurid headlines in your morning paper...a decidedly regular guy, beloved by everyone he worked with.”
Hartman was probably best known for his voice acting on the “Simpsons,” including sleazy lawyer Lionel Hutz and vapid television personality Troy McClure. He was also on NBC sitcom “Newsradio.” He got his start on “Saturday Night Live.”
