Presented by The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals and Best Friends Animal Society, Whiskers in Wonderland displayed hundreds of cats, rabbits, and "reindogs" for adoption, attracting over 2,000 New Yorkers on Dec. 18 and 19 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan's Flatiron District.

The event gathered more than 400 cats from over 30 New York-area rescue groups, rabbits from the Rabbit Rescue and Rehab, and several "reindogs," which appeared at the entrance with mascot "Santa Maddie," according to the presenters.

During the two days, 125 cats, 7 rabbits, and 1 snake were adopted on the spot. About 50 attendees also sent applications for cat adoptions that will take place later this week, according to CBS.

In addition to choosing a pet to bring home, the attendees also enjoyed cat talent shows and received free giveaways, holiday gift ideas, and pet advices.
