A person of interest has been taken into custody after the stabbing of a pregnant woman in Pennsylvania.

The person of interest, who has not been named, is in custody on the unrelated charge of filing a false police report, a source told ABC.

Police received a call at 3:20 a.m. about a loud argument underway at an apartment in Elkins Park.

Officers arrived to find Ebony White, 31, in the master bedroom.

She was stabbed multiple times, reported NBC.

The pregnant woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her baby died as well.

The cause of death for the fetus was intrauterine death due to maternal stab wounds, reported Fox29.

Her two children, ages 12 and 7, were found in the apartment and were unharmed.

The scene of the crime was an apartment in the Lynnewood Gardens Apartment Community in the 2000 block of Mather Way.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Cheltenham Township Police Department at 215-885-1600 or the Montgomery County Detective Bureau at 610-278-3368.
