Perez Hilton, the purveyor of the highly-successful namesake celebrity gossip blog, said he is going to stop bullying celebrities.

Hilton, born Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr., has posted a Youtube video, which touches on teenage suicides linked with bullying.

“I need to be the change that I want to see. I need to be the solution and not part of the problem,” he said on the video, adding that in the past, he has said “hurtful” things about people.

Hilton noted that some critics have come after him and said he is a bully toward various celebrities.

“I don’t want to have to justify what I do anymore,” Hilton said. “I don’t want to continue things as they are—I need to change, and I’m going to, starting today.”

He said he still wants to be fun and sassy on his blog, but not “malicious, hurtful, and nasty.”

Hilton said he could do more via his actions and said things will be different on his website.

“Would people still visit my site if I wasn’t as salacious or Perez-sious as I used to be. If I was less nasty or biting, would my traffic go down?” he asked. “Well, you know what, even if it does—I don’t care.”

He said that he launched more websites like CoCoPerez.com, a fashion website; FitPerez.com, a fitness site; and TeddyHilton.com, a site dedicated to animal rights activism.
