Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola is under fire for waving off MLS All-Star coach Caleb Porter after the friendly game on August 6.

Porter tried to shake Guardiola’s hand but the Bayern Munich coach waved him off.

Twitter reaction was immediate and very negative toward Guardiola.

“Really unprofessional from Pep Guardiola and Bayern. you don’t wave off a handshake with your opposition after the match. grow up @FCBayern,” said one user.

“Pep Guardiola, if you and your staff wave off shaking the hand of a coach that beat you, you don’t deserve a Champions League. #disgrace,” said another.

“Love Pep, but to wave off shaking a coach’s hand because of 2 rough tackles is classless. I don’t care that it’s preseason,” added a third.

“What happened? Why did Pep son the MLS coach like that? The 1-finger wave off was so disrespectful. #MLSAllStar,” added yet another.

The All-Stars beat Bayern Munich 2-1 on Wednesday night in Portland behind goals from Landon Donovan and Bradley Wright-Phillips.

The wave off is interesting because Porter recently told MLSSoccer.com how much he admires Guardiola.

“I like the way he leads, I like the way he interacts with his players, I like the fact that he’s hands on and passionate and he runs the trainings,” Porter said of the coach. “I like the fact that he’s a guy who gets the most out of his players. He’s a player’s coach, you can see that. Guys seem to play for him, and that kind of fits my style, as well.”
