Penny Dreadful season 1 is wrapping up with only three episode left.
Episode 6, airing on June 15, is titled “What Death Can Join Together.”
Showtime has released the synopsis for the episode:
“One of Vanessa’s visions leads the team to a plague ship that may hold the key to finding Mina. Meanwhile, Victor continues working with Van Helsing, who explains how he knows the Master.”
Live streaming for episodes is available via Showtime Anytime.
Episode 7, the lead up to the finale, will air on June 22. It’s titled “Possession.”
The description is as follows: “Sir Malcolm, Ethan and Sembene do everything they can to save Vanessa.”
And episode 8, the season finale, will air on June 29. It’s titled “Grand Guignol.”
The description: “Vanessa and Sir Malcolm confront their worst nightmares.”
Penny Dreadful has been so popular that it’s already been renewed for a season 2.
It will be slightly bigger, with 10 episodes instead of eight.
John Logan will again write each episode.
“I think because it’s a genre show, it has done incredibly well in all the new ways you can watch, beyond any show we’d had before,” said Showtime Networks president David Nevins.
According to Deadline, he said the well-reviewed series was the result of his desire to “create a show that would have credibility with the (Comic-Con) audience” following the end of Dexter, which had done very well with that crowd, “but a show, which is a sophisticated drama that did well with critics and had psychological depth to it.”
Season 2 is slated to premiere in 2015, going into production later this year in Dublin.
