Pedestrian Struck, Killed on 405 Freeway Near LAX

LOS ANGELES—A pedestrian was struck by at least one vehicle and killed on the morning of July 17 on the San Diego 405 Freeway in the unincorporated Lennox area of Los Angeles County.

The death was reported at 3:42 a.m. on the northbound San Diego Freeway at Lennox Boulevard near the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Nasir told City News Service.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Mr. Nasir said. The pedestrian’s age and gender were not immediately available.

California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 4:14 a.m. shutting down lanes 2 through 5 in the area of the crash. Lanes 2, 3, and 4 were reopened at around 5:25 a.m. but lanes 5 and 6 remained closed.
