Paula Creamer, the LPGA star who is in the limelight after winning the HSBC Women’s Champions on Sunday, is happily engaged. She and her boyfriend got engaged last December.

Who is she engaged to?

That would be Derek Heath, a 33-year-old pilot from New Port Beach in California.

Creamer is 27.

The couple were introduced through their parents, reported the Golf Channel.

Their fathers flew together in the Navy and both later became pilots for commercial airlines. They remained close friends and were behind Creamer and Heath meeting at the Kia Classic in March 2013.

Heath is an Air Force Academy graduate who flies C-17s for the Air Force and was recently moved into active reserve status.

Creamer said that the engagement has given her fresh perspective on life.

“I’m in such a great place,” Creamer said. “I’m so happy. Derek just makes me want to be better, makes me want to be a better person. It’s always hard, life out on tour, but now, being able to share things other than with my parents and my caddie, Colin [Cann], it’s been very exciting.”

“There are a lot of up and downs, but Derek just makes me so happy,” Creamer said. “He just motivates me.”
