Paul Walker was known for his kind spirit, and his philosophy of giving. His work with his charity Reach Out Worldwide led to his being named one of the top celebrities of 2013 by DoSomething.org.

The annual list has 20 celebrities on it. Walker is ranked fourth.

Walker died on November 30 in a car crash which happened after he left a fundraising event for his charity.

He and Roger Rodas, who also died in the crash, started the charity together.

The charity sent out small, highly mobile teams of volunteers to help out after disasters.

“Instead of just writing a check, we’re seeing how much more bang for the buck we can get by giving of ourselves and spending every dollar on the cause,” Walker told Merrill Lynch. “As tragic as the disasters are, people consistently rise above the bleakness by focusing on what they still have. It gives you a lot of hope.”

Walker’s philosophy was outlined by his official Facebook page upon learning of being named to the list: "I don’t go where people are. I go where the people aren’t.”

Ahead of Walker on the list are Taylor Swift, the band One Direction, and Beyonce.

The rest of the top 10 are rounded out by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Sandra Bullock, Kerry Washington, Ian Somerhalder, Ryan Seacrest, and Carrie Underwood.
