Paul “Tiny” Sturgess, a player with the Texas Legends, can dunk without jumping. He’s known as the tallest person in professional basketball, standing 7'8"--an inch or two above Yao Ming, Shawn Bradley, and even Manute Bol and George Muresan.
The Texas Legends are in the NBA’s D-league.
Hasheem Thabeet, who stands 7'3", is currently the tallest player in the NBA, according to SI.com.
But while Sturgess is tall enough to drunk without jumping, he barely gets any playing time. He only averages 0.6 points per game with the Legends.
Sturgess has also spent time with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Sturgess told the New York Daily News in a recent interview: “I’m not built for this world, but I’ve adapted to it and I’m using my height for a great thing.”
“It’s a great icebreaker, meeting people.”
