Patrick Brazeau, Canadian Senator, Arrested Again: Reports

Sen. Patrick Brazeau, a Canadian official who was suspended this year for assault, was arrested on Monday, according to reports.

The Toronto Sun reported that Brazeau, who was expelled from the Conservative caucus after he was arrested in February, resisted arrest during a confrontation with police.

Brazeau was arrested late Monday in Gatineau. He allegedly used pepper spray in the encounter with police.

In February, the Quebec senator was arrested for domestic assault and sexual assault.

Debby Simms, assistant to Brazeau, told the Huffington Post that he was not arrested on Monday.

“The rumour of an arrest is false. I can offer that officially,” she wrote. “But I have no information beyond that at this time.”
