For some parents, along with friends and family, their children’s teachers make it on the gift list.
The gifts are usually a token of gratitude and respect. But parents in Ohio got something more practical for their young son’s teachers this year.
“My parents always get our elementary school teachers a present around Christmas,” DJ Sommers wrote on Twitter. “Typically something small like a candle or flower to say thank you. This year they got them bottles of wine and replaced the labels with their own with my brother on them.”
The photo on the label looks like a classic yearbook photo, but the hilarious message beneath the photo made the tweet go viral.
“Our child might be the reason you drink, so enjoy this bottle on us,” the message says.
The parents’ festive and funny message quickly caught with Twitter users. It has been liked 35,000 times and retweeted more than 5,000 times since it was posted on Dec. 18.
Several television networks quickly caught on to the lighthearted Christmas story and his Twitter feed filled up with media requests to use the pictures he took.
