Parents in four of the eight Florida counties that are defying the Sunshine State’s restriction on school mask mandates filed lawsuits last week seeking court orders to force the wayward school districts to comply with state rules.

Lawsuits filed last week against school officials in Alachua, Brevard, Duval, and Orange counties say the defendants are defying a state rule that requires school districts to allow parents to opt children out of school mask mandates.
