A 40-year-old man reported he was robbed by two thieves on bicycles as he was walking on University Avenue on the morning of  Aug. 21, police said.

One of the suspects drew what appeared to be a handgun from his waistband area and demanded money, according to a police news release. The victim threw the money he had in his pocket on the ground.

The suspects fled on bicycles heading eastbound on University Avenue after a vehicle drove by and possibly spooked them, the victim told police. He was not injured.

The armed suspect was described as a black man, around 20 years old, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and 190 pounds, with a gap between his two front teeth. He was last seen wearing a dark green beanie and a black hooded sweatshirt.

The second suspect was described as light-skinned, possibly a Latino male in his mid-20s, around 5 feet 8 with a stocky build. He had a black goatee and dark shoulder-length straight hair. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans.
