Performing on Nov. 15 at the Young Artist Showcase were piano students of The Palisades School of Music. The programme included works from composers such as Chopin, Scriabin, Saint-Seans, Beethoven among others.
Mr Weiss, Director of the Steinway Piano Gallery in New Jersey, said that the Gallery only works with high quality schools in their musical education initiative and that Mr Thomopoulos, Director of Palisades School of Music is an exceptional teacher – the school holds performances here every month.
For such a young age, the students showed much discipline at the concert and had obviously practiced very hard towards this deadline, which was evident in the level of the performances. The students at the school receive intensive training in preparation for their professional careers as pianists, violinists, cellists and flautists. An example of this is the second half of the concert, where violin instructor Julia Meynert performed Mozart with the accompaniment of one of the students.
After every concert the school organises an “After-Party” which the students always look forward to and enjoy as their reward for all their hard work.
