Paige Cavett is safe in Gresham, Oregon after an Amber Alert was issued for her on Saturday. Her father Joshua Cavett is in custody.
The Amber Alert was issued after a shooting on Saturday morning at an apartment in the Gresham area, the city’s police department said.
“Gresham Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find suspect Joshua R. Cavett, age 36, from Portland, who is believed to be accompanied by his 2-year old daughter Paige Cavett,” police said in a flash alert. “The suspect is the child’s biological father but does not have legal custody. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.”
A female at the home was shot just before noon and was taken to the hospital with a life-threatening injury.
The police said via Twitter at about 10:30 p.m. PDT that Joshua Cavett is in custody while Paige is safe.
