PAGASA Weather Update: Typhoon Jose Enters Philippines Area of Responsibility

 Typhoon Halong is now called Typhoon Jose  in the Philippines after it entered the country’s space on Saturday.

The Inquirer reported that Jose entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday evening

PAGASA said the storm was moving west-northwest at about 11 km per hour.

The agency said the typhoon will enhance the southwest monsoon.

No public storm warning was issued.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, Jose was located about 1,300 km east of Central Luzon, with a maximum of 130 km per hour winds.

PAGASA said the storm will bring rains over Metro Manila, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and the provinces of Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Zambales and Bataan, according to the Sun Star.
