St. Joseph Boulevard is closed on Monday after a sinkhole appeared following a water main break.
The boulevard is closed between St. Pierre and Gabriel streets in both directions, Ottawa Police said via Twitter.
Ottawa Public Health told CBC that drinking water was not compromised.
Traffic is being re-routed, and the city is on the scene assessing.
The detour is Gabriel Street to Rocque Street to Maisonneuve Street.
