OTF Nunu, a 21-year-old rapper who also went by the moniker Nuski, was shot and killed in Chicago over the weekend, and a number of people are mourning his death--including his cousin Lil Durk, a fellow Chicago rapper.

Nunu, born McArthur Swindle, was shot in a parking lot in Chicago on Saturday and police have said they believe his death was gang-related.

Nunu was in his SUV when the gunman opened fire, police told the Chicago Sun-Times, adding that he likely drove away from the scene.

Complex.com reported that he eventually crashed his vehicle into a building after sustaining the gunshot wounds.

His aunt, Sherri Swindle, said that Nunu wasn’t involved in any gangs.

Rapper Lil Durk has been continually posting photos and tributes to Nunu since his death.

“I lost my brothas so i keep dat heat, lost nuski i felt so weak ... Rest up bro @otf_nunu love u bro,” Durk tweeted. “I miss u bro i just signed you 2 #OTF 3days ago u was about 2take off @OTF_NUNU This [expletive] hurt #OTF #NUSKIGANG,” he added.

He also tweeted: “Bout to drop this new song i jus did wit the homie @OTF_NUNU #RipOtfNunu.”

According to the Sun-Times, Nunu leaves behind a young daughter. “He was a good person, he was a kindhearted person. He had a lot of soul,” his aunt said.

His manager Merk Murphy said he was working on a “breakout” project. “He was one of those kids who saw an opportunity to put himself in a better position with his music,” he said, with the Sun-Times saying he was working with Durk.

“It needs to stop,” his aunt said, adding that Nunu’s father was shot and killed in 1995. “He was a good person. He was a kindhearted person. He had a lot of soul.”

Nunu’s death was just one of four shooting deaths in Chicago over the weekend.
