OSU Cheerleader Made Sexual Harassment Complaint, Led to Firing of 2 Coaches

An Ohio State University (OSU) cheerleader made a sexual harassment complaint against two assistant coaches earlier this year, leading to the firing of the men.

The complaint was lodged in the spring which led to the coaches–Dana Bumbrey and Eddie Hollins–getting fired on May 23, reported the Lantern, the university’s student media outlet.

The firing was revealed after the Lantern received records it requested on August 30.

While the cheerleading team’s head coach Lenee Buchman failed to properly report the complaint, she was retained by the university.

But she did have to undergo a sexual harassment education session.

Burnby had been an assistant coach for the cheerleading team since August 2009 and was a cheerleader from 1992 through 1995. Hollins graduated OSU in 1994 and was in his third stint on the coaching staff.

John Camillus, an attorney representing former OSU cheerleader Cody Ellis, told the Lantern that Ellis was harassed by Hollins.
