OS X 10.9 Mavericks will be free, Apple said at a press event on Tuesday morning in San Francisco.

The company said that the OS will be a free update, which will be available Tuesday.

According to The Next Web, it will bring iBooks and Maps apps to OS X.

There will also be performance boosters including more battery life and a reduction of loading times.

OS X Mavericks was unveiled in June.
