A police officer was shot in Oregon City, Ore., by a gunman who is still on the loose, according to reports.
Oregonlive.com reported that officials are still searching for a suspect at the 800 block of Linn Ave. in Oregon City.
Fire crews were initially sent to a fire and an armed man was in the area, the website said.
The officer who was shot was responding to the fire, reported KOIN-TV.
Locals in the area were evacuated.
Firefighters were told to stay away from the blaze, KATU-TV reported.
