The premiere date for Orange is the New Black season 3 is still unclear but updates continue coming on filming, cast, and the plot.

The latest cast update is that Lori Petty, who played Lolly, a fellow inmate that Piper meets on a transport plane, will be back for season 3.

Netflix declined comment on the situation to Entertainment Weekly.

Filming started almost immediately after season 2 premiered in June.

Among the numerous other updates:

----Alex Vause will be prominent in the next season. Yes, definitely, and I’m really excited because I missed everybody so much during season 2,“ the former ”That ‘70s Show“ star told TODAY. ”But yeah, we started shooting yesterday, and it’s awesome so I can’t wait to get back to work."

----Pablo Schreiber will not be in season 3 but may be back in a later season

----Mike Birbiglia landed a yet-unspecified role

—Mary Steenburgen will appear in season 3. Her exact role hasn’t been confirmed yet but the star is happy to be part of the show.  “Very excited to go to my first wardrobe fitting of OITNB! Will I be in orange or black?:),” she said via Twitter.

----Season 3 will be “about faith, to a certain extent,” showrunner Jenji Kohan told The Hollywood Reporter

----Uzo Aduba (Crazy Eyes)discussed with MTA what she wants from season 3: “I just want her to be able to find her happiness and her place without having to look for it from some outside source. I want her to find her own voice and her own love, and really stand in that,” Abuda said.

----And Taryn Manning (Pennsatucky) wants a “sing-along.” “Wouldn’t it be great to see Pennsatucky lead a sing-along? I would pay money for that. No one would [follow her], but I think it would be funny to see her try to start one. It would have to be something so left field… something not biblical, but she thinks it is,” she said.

----Based on the previous two seasons, season 3 will likely premiere in June or July next year.
