Orange is the New Black still doesn’t have a season 2 release date–it’s rumored to be sometime this spring–but we do know several new pieces of information.
Let’s check them out:
BuzzFeed reported a while ago, citing sources, that Prepon would only appear in four episodes.
Turns out that was wrong. Prepon will be in “most” of the second season, creator Jenji Kohan told Us Weekly.
Kohan told TVGuide that the storyline in season 2 would expand beyond Piper.
“It’s becoming much more of an ensemble,” Kohan said. “As much as I love Piper and Taylor and her journey, I think people are interested in everybody’s journey.” The story will focus more on characters including Crazy Eyes, and more of the history behind Poussé and Black Cindy.
Then again, some of the story does include Piper. Jason Biggs previously told Entertainment Weekly that Larry struggles with how to deal with Piper, at first wanting to support her but then realizing that he needs to take care of himself.
“But to what extreme, and how far should he take that exactly? Ultimately, he ends up taking advantage of Piper and the situation she’s in, and becomes a little greedy and a little questionable.”
