“Orange is the New Black” cast member Michelle Hurst, aka Miss Claudette, was in “a bad car accident.”
A fundraising page says that Hurst “is now on her road to recovery” but asks people to chip in to help.
The page has raised over $8,500 so far.
The car accident left Hurst in a 16-day medically induced coma, reported the Wrap, citing cast and crew members.
She got surgery near her spine.
She awoke on Thursday morning in the intensive care unit at UNC Chapel Hill in North Carolina, and is now in fair condition.
