Backyard Series: Everything Lavender

July 28

6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Lavender is becoming increasingly grown for the production of its essential oil, which comes from the distillation of the flower spikes of certain species of the plant. Lavender oil is believed to have antiseptic and anti- inflammatory properties, which can be used to help heal minor burns and bug bites,

and some research has revealed that the essential oil of lavender may be useful for treating anxiety, insomnia, and depression. Linda Werner of Orange County Cooperative Extension will share the broad range of uses of the lavender in gardening. Program requires pre-registration. The schedule is subject to change. Patrons who have pre-registered will be notified.
