WEST MIFFLIN, Pa.—Local steelworkers, community leaders, and economic experts said President Donald Trump’s announcement on May 23 that a deal was struck between U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel will go down in American history as the most enduring economic “big, beautiful deal” the 47th president has made.
