A super exciting piece of the leadership of Jay Bhattacharya at the National Institutes for Health concerns his push for open-source publishing. If your research is supported by the government, he says, it must be published on websites that are publicly accessible and not behind a paywall. Authors should not be responsible for paying open-source fees. The taxpayers paying the bill should have full access to the results of the studies.
