You may have noticed the ongoing fight between Alberta’s United Conservative Party and the education establishment—the teachers’ union and university faculties of education—over the government’s new humanities curriculum. And you may have noticed that the “expert” commentary in the mainstream media is uniformly damning the government. “They want to set back our educational system 40 years” and “undo the progress of the past three generations,” according to those commentaries.
