When the U.S. Constitution was being debated at the 1787 Constitutional Convention, Founding Father Benjamin Franklin reportedly said, “The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see that God governs in the affairs of men.” President Ronald Reagan once stated, “If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”
