Commentary
This is the year we celebrate America’s semiquincentennial birthday. Plans are to take that cake baked by the Founders on July 4, 1776, and set it ablaze with 250 candles. It promises to be quite a spectacle.

Jeff Minick has four children and a growing platoon of grandchildren. For 20 years, he taught history, literature, and Latin to seminars of homeschooling students in Asheville, N.C.
