Health Care in the Biosecurity State: Has a Dangerous Precedent Already Been Set?

My light-blue surgical mask matched my well-worn hospital scrubs, and a black stethoscope hung around my neck as I waded through COVID-19 patients during the deadly Delta wave. I had only been on staff for a week at a small emergency room in the dry, rolling hills of eastern Washington when Gov. Jay Inslee mandated the vaccine for all health care workers.
