Well, the clamming experience of this past weekend was an unexpected joy. Hard to explain. Standing waist high in salt water, surrounded by sailboats in a harbor, dragging a clam rake across the mucky ground, digging up living animal-like things—let’s just say that I did this for hours. The results were a huge meal to feed plenty. Overflowing!
