The 2022 Australian Open is now part of tennis history. History will describe this year’s Open as personal triumphs of Ashleigh Barty, the women’s champion who gave Australia its first victory in 44 years, and Rafael Nadal who, beating a persistent foot injury, was crowned the men’s champion. It was Nadal’s 21st Grand Slam victory—the only man in the world to achieve this feat.
