[xtypo_dropcap]A[/xtypo_dropcap]n intense snow storm stranded hundreds of motorists in southwestern Ontario on highway 402 prompting Canadian Forces to deploy military helicopters to aid in a rescue effort.
Ontario police said Tuesday some 237 people were stranded in their vehicles while others had escaped on their own, leaving their vehicles on the road—200 tractor trailers and 124 cars in total.
Some of those trucks were delivering auto parts which hampered vehicle production in Brampton and Windsor, forcing some plants to cut hours.
