San Mateo County Coroner Robert Foucrault said in a July 19 news conference that the injuries sustained by one of the girls killed after the recent plane crash in San Francisco “are consistent with being run over by a motor vehicle.” The girl was alive after the crash but was killed when run over by at least one fire vehicle.

The San Francisco fire chief, Joanne Hayes-White, said that the department has reached out to the girls family to express their condolences. The department is still investigating exactly what happened, which may include the girl having been covered with foam used to extinguish fires.
