One Arrested in Connection With Shooting That Injured 15-Year-Old

A 16-year-old was arrested on August 29 in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 27 in San Jose.

The suspect, whose name has not been released by police, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

On August 27 at 4:14 p.m., officers with the San Jose Police Department responded to the 900 block of Walnut Woods Drive on a report of a person shot.

The victim, a 15-year-old male, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Police said the preliminary investigation into the shooting revealed a group of juveniles was confronted by men in a green convertible Ford Mustang.

A verbal altercation ensued, and the suspect exited the vehicle and fired at the group of victims.
